The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH) 2002 states that every employer shall ensure that the exposure of employees to substances hazardous to health is either prevented or, where this is not reasonably practicable, adequately controlled.

Regulation 6 of the COSHH Regulations 2002 states that a suitable and sufficient assessment of risk must be undertaken when working with chemicals. All routes of exposure must be identified which may include inhalation, ingestion, absorption and injection.

A COSHH Risk Assessment will identify the potentially hazardous substances, who is at risk of harm, how exposure to the hazardous substances may occur, evaluate the risk and identify appropriate control measures.  Workplace Scientifics Ltd can support you with your COSHH Risk Assessment either on an individual substance basis or as a process based assessment which covers a particular production process from start to finish.

Following the undertaking of a COSHH Risk Assessment, Workplace Scientifics Ltd will support you in establishing a Workplace Exposure Monitoring Programme.  This programme can include Workplace Air Monitoring, Biological Monitoring or a combination of both.
